LMC555CN - TI Function Overview

The LMC555CN is a low power 555 CMOS timer in 8 pin DIP package. It is used for generating accurate time delays and oscillation. This device is a CMOS version of industry standard 555 series general purpose timers. The LMC555CN offers same capability of generating accurate time delays and frequencies as LM555 but with much low power dissipation and supply current spikes. When operated as one shot, the time delay is precisely controlled by single external resistor and capacitor. In stable mode, the oscillation frequency and duty cycle are accurately set by two external resistors and one capacitor. The use of Texas Instrument"s LMCMOS process extends both frequency range and low supply capability.
Less than 1mW typical power dissipation at 5V supply
3MHz astable frequency capability
Supply voltage range from 1.5V to 15V
Output fully compatible with TTL and CMOS logic at 5V supply
Tested to 10mA and 50mA output current levels
Reduced supply current spikes during output transitions
Extremely low reset, trigger and threshold currents
Excellent temperature stability
Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C
This device has limited built-in ESD protection. The leads should be shorted together or device placed in conductive foam during storage or handling to prevent electrostatic damage to MOS gates.
