MAX2750EUA+ - Maxim Integrated Function Overview

The MAX2750EUA+ is a monolithic voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) in 8 pin µMAX package. This self contained VCO combines fully integrated oscillator and output buffer. The inductor and varactor elements of tank are integrated on-chip which greatly simplifies application of the device. The only required external components are couple of supply bypass capacitors. The IC provides direct connection to VCO tuning voltage input and VCO buffer output. The tuning voltage input range is 0.4V to 2.4V and oscillator frequency tuning range is factory adjusted to provide limits. The output signal is buffered by an amplifier stage (internally matched to 50 ohm) to provide higher output power and isolate the device from load impedance variations. Internal regulation of oscillator supply voltage eliminates need for an external LDO regulator for VCO. The MAX2750 is used in 802.11b DSSS WLAN, 802.11 FHSS WLAN, Home RF, 2.4GHz and Bluetooth ISM proprietary radio.

Tuning gain of 140MHz/V (fOSC = 2400MHz, +3V) and 90MHz/V (fOSC = 2500MHz, +3V)
