MCP1253-33X50I/MS - Microchip Function Overview

The MCP1253-33X50I/MS is an inductor less, positive-regulated charge pump DC/DC Converter. The devices generate a regulated fixed (3.3 or 5.0V) or adjustable output voltage. They are specifically designed for applications requiring low noise and high efficiency and are able to deliver up to 120mA output current. The devices allow the input voltage to be lower or higher than the output voltage, by automatically switching between buck/boost operation. These charge pumps operate at a switching frequency of 1MHz (reducing capacitor sizes) and feature power saving shutdown pins, short-circuit protection, thermal shutdown and power-good pins that report out-of-regulation conditions.
Low 60 µA supply current in no load conditions
High 2.5% voltage accuracy (on fixed voltage outputs)
High 1MHz operation to avoid interference with IF bands
Allows for small capacitor use to save board space and cost
Logic level shutdown control reduces current consumption to 0.1µA during standby operation
Power-good output indicator with hysteresis
Thermal shutdown protection with hysteresis
Short-circuit protection
Soft-start circuitry to minimize inrush current
