MCP3002-I/SN - Microchip Function Overview

The MCP3002-I/SN is a 10-bit Analogue-to-digital Converter combines high performance and low power consumption. The MCP3002 features a successive approximation register (SAR) architecture and an industry-standard SPI™ serial interface, allowing 10-bit ADC capability to be added to any PICmicro® microcontroller. The MCP3002 features 200kSPS, 2 input channels, low power consumption (5nA typical standby, 520µA typical active). Applications for the MCP3002 includes data acquisition, multi-channel data loggers and robotics. The MCP3002 is programmable to provide a single pseudo-differential input pair or dual single-ended inputs. Differential non-linearity (DNL) and integral non-linearity (INL) are both specified at ±1 LSB. Communication with the device is done using a simple serial interface compatible with the SPI protocol. The device is capable of conversion rates of up to 200kSPS at 5V and 75kSPS at 2.7V.
