MCP73832T-2ACI/OT - Microchip Function Overview

The MCP73832T-2ACI/OT is a miniature, single cell, fully integrated Li-ion and Li-polymer charge management controller in 5 pin SOT-23 package. The device is ideally suitable where space and cost is of major concern. It is small in size and require less number of external components. For applications like charging from USB port, the MCP73832 adhere to all specifications governing USB power bus. The MCP73832 employs constant current/constant voltage charge algorithm with selectable preconditioning and charge termination. The constant current value is set with one external resistor. It limits charge current based on die temperature during high power or high ambient conditions. This thermal regulation optimizes the charge cycle time while maintaining device reliability.
Integrated pass transistor, integrated current sense and reverse discharge protection
High accuracy preset voltage regulation of 0.75%
Programmable charge current range from 15mA to 500mA
Supply voltage range from 3.75V to 6V
Regulated output voltage of 4.2V
Selectable preconditioning (10%, 20%, 40% or disable)
Selectable end of charge control (5%, 7.5%, 10% or 20%)
Open drain output
Automatic power down
Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C
