●Overview:
●Hard Metric High Power Connectors are a perfect complement to FCI‘s high speed ZipLine® and AirMax VS® signal connectors as well as Millipacs®.These power connectors mount alongside their signal counterparts and are used in applications where bulk current must pass through a backplane or midplane to power consuming components on a mating daughter card (blades, controller boards, etc).
●The power contacts incorporate multiple points of contact and are made using a high conductivity copper alloy. In addition, the unique housing design includes openings that allow air to flow through the mated connectors thus enhancing heat dissipation properties. These design features enable the connector system‘s high current-carrying capability.
●Contacts in the 1×2 version carry 40 amps per contact for a total of 80 amps per module. Contacts in the 2×2 and 2×3 modules carry 20 amps per contact. Please reference the current rating information in the Hard Metric High Power Product Specification (GS-12-220) for additional details.
●Each header offers 2, 4 or 6 individual power contacts positioned in 1×2, 2×2 or 2×3 arrays. The backplane receptacles are offered in 2×2 and 2×3 configurations with the 2×2 receptacle mating to either the 1×2 or 2×2 header configuration. The protected backplane receptacles are UL 60950 Compliant (Finger Probe).
