The MAX13256ATB+T is a 36V H-bridge transformer driver for isolated supplies in 10 pin TDFN package. It provides simple solution for making isolated power supplies up to 10W. The device drives transformer"s primary coil with up to 300mA of current from wide 8V to 36V DC supply. The transformer"s secondary to primary winding ratio defines output voltage allowing selection of virtually any isolated output voltage. The current limit of MAX13256 is set by an external resistor. A active-low FAULT output asserts when device detects an overtemperature or overcurrent condition. The device can be operated using internal oscillator or driven by an external clock to synchronize multiple MAX13256 devices and precisely set the switching frequency. Internal circuitry provides fixed 50% duty cycle to prevent DC current flow through transformer regardless of which clock source is used. It is used in power meters, isolated fieldbus interfaces and 24V PLC supply isolation.
