The MAX638ACPA+ is a CMOS step down switching regulator in 8 pin DIP package. This device is designed for minimum component, low power DC to DC conversion. Typical application requires only small, low cost inductor, an output filter capacitor and a catch diode. Low battery detection circuitry is included on-chip. It is fixed +5V output regulator and can also be set for other voltages by adding two resistors. The MAX638 is used in linear voltage regulator replacement +12V to +5V conversion and battery life extension applications.
● Supply voltage range from 5V to 16.5V (Vout = 5V) and 2.2V to 16.5V (adjustable mode)
● Operating temperature range from 0°C to 70°C
● Typical efficiency of 85% and output current of 0.075A

● Line regulation is 0.2% Vout and load regulation is 0.2% Vout
● Oscillator frequency of 65KHz and oscillator duty cycle of 50%
