The MAX6629MUT#TG16 from Maxim Integrated Products is a 12bit + sign digital temperature sensor with serial interface in 6 pin SOT-23 package. It is a local digital temperature sensors with SPI compatible serial interface. Temperature is converted to a 12bit + sign word with resolution of 0.0625°C/LSB. An extended temperature range provides useful readings up to 150°C. This sensor is a 3-wire serial interface SPI compatible allowing device to be readily connected to variety of microcontrollers and is read only device, simplifying its use in systems where only temperature data is required. It requires very little supply current making them ideal for portable systems. The MAX6629 performs a conversion once every 0.5s and require 200µA supply current. This temperature sensor can perform conversions more often up to approximately four conversions per second by reading conversion results more often. It is used in cellular, hard disk drive, HVACs. industrial control and systems.
