The MAX9722AEUE+ is a 5V, differential input, DirectDrive, 130mW stereo headphone amplifier with Shutdown in 16 pin TSSOP package. The unique DirectDrive architecture to produce a ground-referenced output from a single supply eliminating the need for large DC-blocking capacitors which saves cost, board space and component height. Additionally, the gain of the amplifier is adjusted externally. An 80dB at 217Hz power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) allows this device to operate from noisy digital supplies without an additional linear regulator. The device consists of two class AB headphone amplifiers, undervoltage lockout (UVLO)/shutdown control, charge pump and comprehensive click and pop suppression circuitry. The charge pump inverts the positive supply (PVDD) creating a negative supply (PVSS). It has an undervoltage lockout that prevents operation from an insufficient power supply, click and pop suppression eliminates audible transients on start-up and shutdown.
● Supply voltage range is 2.4V to 5.5V
● Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C
● Quiescent supply current is 5.5mA
● Ground referenced outputs eliminate DC bias voltage on headphone ground pin
