The MCP3201-CI/SN is a 12-bit Analogue-to-Digital Converter with on-board sample and hold circuitry. Combines high performance and low power consumption. The MCP3201 features a successive approximation register (SAR) architecture and an industry-standard SPI serial interface, allowing 12-bit ADC capability to be added to any PIC® microcontroller. The MCP3201 features 100k samples/second, 1 input channel, low power consumption (5nA typical standby, 400µA max. active). Applications for the MCP3201 includes data acquisition, multi-channel data loggers and robotics. The device provides a single pseudo-differential input. Differential non-linearity (DNL) is specified at ±1 LSB and integral non-linearity (INL) is offered in ±1 LSB (MCP3201-B) versions. Communication with the device is done using a simple serial interface compatible with the SPI protocol.
