The SN65176BDR is a differential bus transceiver in 8 pin SOIC package. It is used for bidirectional data communication on multipoint bus transmission lines. This differential bus transceiver is designed for balanced transmission lines. This device meets ANSI standards TIA/EIA-422-B, TIA/EIA-485-A, ITU recommendations V.11 and X.27. The SN65176B combines 3 state differential line driver and differential input line receiver both of which operate from a single 5V power supply. The driver and receiver have active high and active low enables that can be connected together externally to function as a direction control. The driver differential outputs and receiver differential inputs are connected internally to form differential input/output (I/O) bus ports that are designed to offer minimum loading to bus when driver is disabled or VCC = 0. These ports feature wide positive and negative common mode voltage ranges making SN65176B suitable for party line applications.
● Designed for multipoint transmission on long bus lines in noisy environments
● Supply voltage range from 4.75V to 5.25V
● Wide positive and negative input/output bus voltage ranges
● ± 60mA maximum driver output capability
● Thermal shutdown protection
● Driver positive and negative current limiting
● Receiver input impedance of 12Kohm (minimum)
● ±200mV receiver input sensitivity
● Receiver input hysteresis is 50mV
● Operating temperature range from -40°C to 105°C
●This device has limited built-in ESD protection. The leads should be shorted together or device placed in conductive foam during storage or handling to prevent electrostatic damage to the MOS gates.
