The TPS40170EVM-578 is an evaluation module designed to use an unregulated bus voltage between 10V and 60V to provide a regulated 5V output at up to 6A of load current. TPS40170EVM-578 is designed to demonstrate the TPS40170 controller in a typical wide input bus converter application while providing a number of non invasive test points to evaluate the performance and capabilities of the TPS40170 in a typical application. The TPS40170 is a full featured, synchronous PWM buck controller that operates at an input voltage between 4.5V and 60V and is optimised for high power density, high reliability DC/DC converter applications. The controller implements voltage mode control with input voltage feed forward compensation that enables instant response to input voltage change. The switching frequency is programmable from 100KHz to 600KHz. The TPS40170 has a complete set of system protection and monitoring features.
