The TPS61030EVM-208 is an evaluation module for the TPS61030 inductive boost converter in a 16TSSOP package that can supply voltages up to 5.5V from input voltages in the range of 1.8V to 5.5V. The TPS61030 device provide a power supply solution for products powered by either a one cell Li Ion or Li polymer, or a two to three cell alkaline, NiCd or NiMH battery. For proper operation the maximum input voltage should not exceed the output voltage. The maximum output current is at least 1000mA, depending on the input voltage. The converter can be disabled to minimize battery drain. During shutdown, the load is completely disconnected from the battery. A low EMI mode is implemented to reduce ringing and, in effect, lower radiated electromagnetic energy when the converter enters the discontinuous conduction mode. The evaluation module can also be used to supply other output voltages by simply changing the feedback resistor divider.

●This device has limited built in ESD protection. The leads should be shorted together or device placed in conductive foam during storage or handling to prevent electrostatic damage to the MOS gates.
●This EVM should be operated within the input voltage range of 1.8V to 5V and the output voltage range of 2.5V to 5.5V. Exceeding the specified input range may cause damage to the EVM.
