TITLE: Double Molded SSOP construction change.
This change is done to improve Isolation Voltage robustness. This is realized through a
construction change to a Double Molded Over/ Under (DMOU) package. The new package
will be black in colour and will be produced using Environmental Friendly molding compounds on a new automated production
line.
In addition to this we also taking the opportunity to upgrade the detector chips to the newer 6" version with the introduction of an
alternate detector and the SFH6916 will also be consolidated to this new manufacturing line.
DESCRIPTION OF CHANGE:
Assembly Process/Structure / Wafer/Chip/Pellet Process/Structure
CLASSIFICATION OF CHANGE:
Products were changed to improve the high voltage robustness performance of the SSOP
products and to the avail of the more environmental friendly "Green" mold compounds that
are currently available.
This change will allow the utilization of the same materials, construction and process that are employed on all other optocouplers
Vishay manufactures.
In the case of the SFH6916, it is being transferred from an older Double molded line to this new line.
REASON FOR CHANGE:
By manufacturing these products using the DMOU construction on a more automated
production line, a more robust and reliable product is achieve while still maintaining the
existing product specification and performance.
