DC1621A demonstration board is to evaluate the performance of the LTM8062 uModule power tracking battery charger. The demonstration board is designed to operate from a 9.75V to 32V input source, and to charge a 2-cell battery pack to a fl oat voltage of 7.2V 7.2V. The float voltage can easily be changed to a higher or lower voltage by adjusting the resister values. The LTM8062 employ an input voltage regulation loop, which reduces charge current if the input voltage falls below a programmed level, set with a resistor divider. When the LTM8062 is powered by a solar panel, this input regulation loop is used to maintain the panel at peak output power. The LTM8062 also include preconditioning trickle charge, bad battery detection, a choice of termination schemes and automatic restart. Jumper on board allows for easy selection of C/10 or timer charge termination.
