The MAX620EWN+ from Maxim Integrated Products is a quad, high side MOSFET driver in 18 pin WSOIC package. It incorporates four MOSFET drivers and charge pump, high side power supply to power high side switching and control circuits. The charge pump delivers a regulated output voltage of 11V greater than VCC to drivers which then translate TTL/CMOS input signal to non-inverted output that swings from ground to high side voltage. The outputs drive N-channel FETs in high side or low side switching applications including wide range of line and battery powered applications. The MAX620 has undervolatge lockout capability. This lockout feature inhibits FET driver outputs until the high side voltage reaches proper level as indicated by the power-ready output. It is used in high side power, portable computer battery load management, H-bridge motor drives, stepper motor drivers, N-channel MOSFET switching, low side switching from low supply voltages and quad latching level translators.
